Hello
I'm Sam, your Pre PACES Podcast host, a cardiology registrar based in the south-west of England, amateur poker player and Alan Partridge wannabe.
Having had a passion for radio and podcasts for some time, I've tried my hand at combining my day job with something I enjoy with the aim of helping medical trainees pass their membership exams.
About the podcast
The Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) is an internationally revered set of medical exams, and passing demonstrates a degree of clinical competence sufficient to run the medical take as the registrar on-call. It's also known for being bloody hard.

In 2018, I was a core medical trainee making long commutes, then revising for PACES in the evening. Disappointed by the lack of quality, educational PACES resources to help me revise on the go, I decided to make my own.

The Pre PACES Podcast provides expert clinical knowledge, exam hacks and time-saving tips from a combination of consultant physicians and junior doctors to give you the best chance to pass your exam.
